i like the feel of this and it would make me pick it up, but I don't really know what I am looking at...
A ribbon weaving through manually made holes in a book?? Interesting, but not revealing or hinting at anything within my range of understanding...

Actually, Paul says he got the idea because there's a worm-eaten book that is part of the novel.
